Premier League Round-Up: Arsenal Held at Brentford as Title Race Tightens

In a key midweek Premier League fixture, Brentford FC drew 1-1 with leaders Arsenal FC at the Gtech Community Stadium on Thursday night, in a result that has injected fresh intensity into the 2025-26 title race.

Arsenal took the lead in the 61st minute through a header by Noni Madueke as they looked to respond to Manchester City FC’s midweek win over Fulham, which had narrowed the gap at the top of the table.

However, Brentford hit back only 10 minutes later when Keane Lewis-Potter powered home a header from a long throw, earning the hosts a hard-fought equaliser. Both sides had chances late on, but the game finished level.

The draw means Arsenal missed the chance to go six points clear at the summit and now sit four points ahead of Manchester City with 12 games left to play. Mikel Arteta, while disappointed, urged his squad to “raise the levels” as the title fight enters its crucial phase.

Brentford’s spirited display keeps them in the mix for European qualification, remaining in seventh place as they continue one of their most consistent seasons in the top flight.
