Nottingham Forest Sack Head Coach Sean Dyche After Just 114 Days in Charge

Nottingham Forest have sacked head coach Sean Dyche, making him the third permanent manager to be dismissed by the club this season, the Premier League side confirmed early Thursday.

Dyche’s departure came hours after Forest were held to a 0–0 draw against bottom-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers at the City Ground on Wednesday night. The result left Forest 17th in the Premier League, just three points above the relegation zone with 12 matches remaining in the 2025-26 campaign.

The 54-year-old English coach, who joined Forest in October 2025 on a contract running until the summer of 2027, was dismissed after 114 days in charge. His exit follows disappointing results in recent weeks, including a three-game winless streak in the league that heightened pressure on his position.

In a brief statement, the club said: “Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as head coach. We would like to thank Sean and his staff for their efforts during their time at the club, and we wish them the best of luck for the future.” No further details on his successor were provided at the time of the announcement.

Dyche becomes the club’s third managerial departure of the season, following the exits of Nuno Espírito Santo and Ange Postecoglou earlier this campaign. If Forest appoint a fourth permanent manager before the end of the season, they would set a Premier League record for the most managerial changes in a single campaign.

Despite leading Forest into the UEFA Europa League knockout stages, the English side’s struggles in domestic competition have overshadowed their continental run and contributed to increasing uncertainty around their Premier League future.

Speculation is already growing over potential replacements, with reports linking former Wolves boss Vitor Pereira among the leading candidates to take over at the City Ground as Forest look to steady their season both in the league and in Europe.
