HUNPE INAUGURATES CABINET MEMBERS, TASKS THEM ON SERVICE DELIVERY

The Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Babatunde Hunpe, has inaugurated members of the council’s Executive Cabinet, urging them to see their appointments as a call to service and an opportunity to deliver meaningful development to the people.

Speaking during the ceremony, the chairman described the inauguration as a major step toward advancing his administration’s “Greater Badagry Rising Agenda,” aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery across the ten wards of the local government.

Hunpe noted that the cabinet members — comprising the Secretary to the Local Government, Supervisors, and Special Advisers — emerged through a transparent and inclusive process within the All Progressives Congress, allowing each ward to nominate credible candidates.

“Badagry Local Government does not need passengers; it needs partners. Your appointment is not a trophy to display but a tool to solve the challenges facing our people,” the chairman said, while urging the appointees to remain accountable, innovative, and committed to grassroots engagement.

Earlier, Council Manager Mary Abosede Olusanya congratulated the newly inaugurated officials and encouraged them to work collaboratively with the council leadership to advance the administration’s development agenda.

The oath of office was administered by the council’s Legal Officer, Kehinde Popoola.

Among those inaugurated were Mr. Benjamin Adagba as Secretary to the Local Government and Mr. Taiwo Towolawi as Chief of Staff, alongside several Supervisors and Special Advisers overseeing key sectors of the local government.

The event was attended by dignitaries including Bonu Solomon Saanu, Ibrahim Layode (represented), former chairman Olusegun Adeniran Onilude, council officials, APC leaders, traditional rulers, and other stakeholders.
