At the public hearing of draft bye-laws organized by the legislative arm, the Chairman of Badagry Local Government Area, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, announced a free medical outreach for senior citizens aged 60 years and above as part of efforts to promote healthcare access and improve the welfare of elderly residents.
According to the announcement, the free medical care exercise will hold on Thursday, 12th February 2026, at the Badagry Local Government Secretariat, starting from 10:00am.
The initiative is aimed at providing basic medical consultations and care for senior citizens who often face challenges accessing quality healthcare due to age and financial constraints.
Residents and families with elderly relatives have been encouraged to take full advantage of the exercise, as it reflects the chairman’s commitment to people-oriented governance and prioritization of the wellbeing of vulnerable groups within the local government.
Observers describes the initiative as another commendable step by the Hon. Babatunde Hunpe-led administration, reinforcing its focus on social welfare, responsive leadership, and community development.
Eligible senior citizens are advised to arrive early at the venue to benefit maximally from the free medical services.
