The Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Strategic Leadership and Public Resources Management in West Africa by the Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics.
The prestigious recognition also inducts him into the Instituteβs 2026 Hall of Fame.
The award was formally presented during a brief ceremony at his office in Badagry by Dr. Babatunde Newton, the Instituteβs 2nd Vice-President (Academic), alongside Engr. Mike Shey Phillips and Mrs. Victoria Olanrewaju.
Established in 1995, the Ghana-based Institute described Hon. Hunpe as an exceptional leader whose over three decades of service in public administration and legislative responsibilities reflect strategic vision, integrity, and disciplined execution.
The Institute highlighted his extensive public service career, including his tenure as Special Adviser to former Lagos State Governors Babatunde Raji Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode, as well as his service as a member of the House of Representatives. According to the Institute, the honorary doctorate recognizes his steadfast leadership and transformative contributions to governance and public administration.
In his acceptance remarks, Hon. Hunpe expressed appreciation for the international recognition.
